A Light In The World

Updated: Jun 30

"You are the light of the world."

Matthew 5:1

I've thought a lot about these words this week. No darkness can overcome any light. But as one who works from home and homeschools my kids, I don't get out into the world as much as others. So the light I have to offer is quite small.

Maybe you can relate. Maybe you can't.

Regardless, we are called to be a light. And the question is, how can we be a light when our personal life is small?

Just think if you were out in the middle of nowhere at night... A desert. A forest. The ocean. And off in the distance, you saw the tiniest of lights. Your eyes would be immediately drawn to it. You might even find yourself not able to look away. You'd be simply mesmerized by the flicker off in the distance.

As a quilter, this brings me much encouragement. Quilters do their work many times in the quiet of their homes, unseen, unnoticed. The world around them swirls at high speed. But the moment you hand over that quilt gift, a small flicker of light is seen, and the beholder just can't seem to take their eyes off of it.

It is at this very moment, you are now a light in the world.

That's why I'm so passionate about Quilts for Kids. It's our opportunity to be that small but undeniable light to little children...children in their greatest time of need. You can sign up for the next QAL & Donate now! Come be a light with us and grab a friend so we can shine even brighter.

And to celebrate, let's have a pattern sale! We've now established we are lights in the world. It's the most beautiful time of the year as spring has sprung and the spring skies are full of stars. The world is in bloom and lights are shining. So from now until Sunday, you can get 15% off the...

and the Fairy Garden Quilt!

And no matter your skill or passion, go shine the light to those around you with the talents and tools you have in your hands. Let your light shine!
